I am a bilingual, Elementary teaching credential student with experience working with children of all ages. My most recent experiences include student teaching in a 4th/5th grade class, a kindergarten class and teaching art to first and second graders. I am fluent in Spanish and particularly enthusiastic about teaching math! I have had the pleasure of being trained in science instruction, received special training in working with English learners, implemented dynamic and content-based curriculum as an art instructor and years of experience working with children as a camp counselor and babysitter.

When teaching and tutoring, I take time to understand each individual child so I can best meet their needs. I have learned numerous strategies to support different learning styles. Each child has the potential to be great at all subjects and it is my job to find the best way to support a child's learning and understanding. When teaching math, I do not focus just on rules and algorithms, I instead make sure my students gain conceptual understanding of math topics and learn about to communicate mathematically through discussing their thinking and problem-solving.
