I absolutely love teaching children of all ages and have quite a bit of experience. I have my degree in early childhood, elementary education and am also a reading specialist. While I specialize in reading, I have led several after school programs both in math and reading for students K-6. I also enjoy working with preschool age children and teaching them early reading and writing skills (recognizing and writing the alphabet, numbers and identifying letter sounds, etc.). I believe the foundation of a strong education is built during early years and it is never too early to begin! I have access to teacher basals, manipulative's, learning games, phonic readers, word building and many other resources to better assist your child. I teach through hands-on activities, and games because my belief is school and learning should and can be fun!

With the help of you, your child's teacher and specific assessments which I will provide and have been trained in, I will create a custom tutoring program tailored to meet your child's needs. Again, it is extremely important to me that these lessons are fun and your child enjoys our time together so I make a point to make these lessons active and fun. My past and current students have always told me they look forward to our sessions. I value this and would want the same for your child.

I am a huge advocate of positive reinforcement, both verbally and through earning small prizes. Each child that I tutor receives his/her own prize card that reinforces hard work and academic achievement. Once the student has earned a specific number of points they are able to "buy" something from my prize box.

I have tutored several students for years and have reference letters from satisfied parents that I would be happy to provide. I enjoy working with kids and helping them gain the confidence and skills they need to succeed and am willing to go the extra mile for them. I like to touch base with the parents after our session so they know exactly what is going, what they can work on between sessions and discuss the progress their child is making. There is nothing I enjoy more than teaching and tutoring. I have a real passion for instilling a love of learning in children and helping them achieve their full potential.
