I was a a peer counselor in high school where I tutored fellow students in various subjects. I was also a part of a humanities program where I worked with students who needed help with reading comprehension and note-taking skills. I became a writing tutor at Indiana Wesleyan University's Writing Center for 3 years, and I loved it so much I decided to pursue a life of professional tutoring. Through training, research, and field experience, I am continually cultivating new skills for being effective with my clients. I have seen firsthand the positive impact tutoring can have on an individual, both academically and emotionally. Whether with writing, reading, listening, analyzing, or comprehending, I believe all of these factors are huge in effective communication, which is essential for a functional society.
