I am employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional at the elementary school level. Being employed, my fingerprints are on file with the state and a thorough background check has been done. I have had this position for 7 years and have thoroughly enjoyed working with children of all needs. I believe all children learn in all different ways and love to learn. I encourage children to always try, and that we can work together to find success. Once children become frustrated, they tend to "shut down" and learning becomes much more difficult for them. I have many strategies that I have learned and applied daily in my teaching that allow children to have great success without becoming frustrated. I have also worked the Summer School Reading Program. Prior to this, I was also a substitute teacher. I have been selected as "Employee of the Year" for the 2011-2012 school year at the elementary school that I am employed at. I am very humbled and honored by this selection because I work with so many fabulous people who are dedicated to their profession.
