Most of my professional as well as volunteer experience has had some form of tutoring involved in it. My most recent job was caring for and teaching lessons to preschool aged children at a non-profit organization. Before that, I was a math tutor at an elementary school in Phoenix tutoring 5th graders for their math standardized tests. I have also worked in a GED classroom tutoring in high school level math, science, social studies, reading, and writing. I also have worked privately as a summer tutor for children ages 5 and 7 years old in reading and math. I have experience with teaching outside of school subjects, leading a volunteer club, a children's and teens book club, and sports and nutrition classes. I have taught adult English and computer classes as well as taught lessons once a week for a year in a head start preschool classroom. In June of this summer, I volunteered overseas in Cameroon, Africa teaching lessons on the environment (litter, recycling, composting, etc.) to various schools and a orphanage. I had an internship in a 4th grade classroom last spring and will continue my internship in a special education classroom this fall through ASU.
