Before college, I helped younger children in my area learn English, including a young boy who spoke Mandarin and another boy who spoke French, even though I did not speak either of those languages. I do speak Spanish, not fluently, but pretty well, and a small amount of Greek.
I also danced ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and modern for 12 years before college. In high school, I taught tap, ballet, and jazz. I taught tap and ballet to kindergartners and taught jazz to 3rd-5th grade.
In college, I volunteered at a high school in Philadelphia tutoring children in math and reading. I also student taught a criminal law course in college as well as a forensic psychology course where I explained difficult concepts to students.
In high school I scored very highly on the SATs and in college I scored highly on the GREs as well. I graduated with a 3. 63 GPA from the #1 college in the country for my major, criminal justice at the University of Maryland.
I have a lot of patience with children and really enjoy learning and teaching, so I would be glad to work with children of any age, from pre-K to college.
