I am an author and journalist who has published eight nonfiction books for young adults (on subjects ranging from extreme sports to the Loch Ness monster to social networking and blogs), as well as dozens of articles in magazines and websites.
Inspiring others inspires me, which is why I truly love writing for young people and imparting what I have learned, through tutoring. Throughout college and beyond, I have successfully tutored students in logic, writing, grammar, and philosophy, as well as English as a second language. For the past two years, I have served as a private writing tutor for a middle school student, strengthening not only his grades but his confidence in his own abilities. He's even expressed interest in becoming a (sports) journalist!

Credentials: I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B. A. in English Literature and Philosophy from the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University and hold a two-year graduate certificate in Creative Nonfiction Writing from the University of Chicago, where I was a finalist for the Student Writing Prize.
