I am offering reading, writing, and ESL tutoring services. I have 30 credits towards a master's degree in Reading Education (6 more credits to go before obtaining my degree). I am available to tutor children and adults one-on-one in the Middle River, Essex, Dundalk, Rosedale, Parkville area. I charge $20/hour and my services include the following:

* First meeting free to meet parents and discuss concerns or areas to be addressed
* Initial informal assessments administered to determine strengths and needs of client
* Individualized plan addressing specific needs of client
* Recommendation of specific trade books on client's reading level
* Word activities to build word knowledge of vowel patterns, blends, digraphs, and word endings
* Comprehension strategies
* Fluency activities
* Confidence building
* Grammar activities and sentence building activities
* Development of a five paragraph essay
* Weekly report on progress made and areas that need to be addressed


I have taught students from first grade to college students, and have also taught ESL to adults. I have many books and educational games that I can bring to tutoring sessions. Tutoring sessions are held at public libraries, bookstores, or in the client's home. Because of my dogs, I am unable to hold tutoring sessions in my home. (They are very distracting!)
