I am a junior at the University of Northern Colorado majoring in Mathematics with an emphasis in Statistics. I have not formally tutored anyone yet before but I am patient and good at explaining complicated concepts. I'd enjoy tutoring children because I feel as though the reason I have been able to do so well in Math and other school subjects is because I had great teachers throughout my lifetime, while I was living in Alexandria, Virginia (about 5 minutes from Washington, D. C.). I was lucky to have educators who were able to take the time with each individual in the classroom so that everyone stayed on track. I was lucky to have teachers who actually made learning fun because I could make sense of it. I want to bring that same sense of confidence to kids who may be struggling academically. I am most experienced in Mathematics (I've taken up to Calculus III, in which I received the grade of A.), but I went to Aquinas Montessori School for eight years, a public school, Carl Sandburg, for middle school, and a college preparatory school, St. Stephens & St. Agnes School, for high school so I have a well-rounded education. I excel in math as well as any class requiring critical thinking skills, including writing papers and grammar/english. I believe I can help students further their education and help any one who may be struggling.
