I am a certified Elementary and Special Education Teacher. I currently work at a school for children with Autism, however, I have 11 years experience working with individuals with special needs ranging from infancy to 22 years old. I also have 7 years experience in a special education school setting. I have also tutored elementary and middle school students in areas including math, social studies and reading. I have edited papers for college students as well. My concentration in college was History, so I am equipped and willing to tutor History all the way through high school. I like to bring a unique perspective to teaching. I prefer to explain concepts in real world settings, as well as show multiple ways/understandings of a particular subject. I am good at identifying a student's learning style and strengths and utilize them to build up weaker areas.

I have been working as an in home respite provider for 3 years. I have worked with a 16-year-old boy with Autism and a 22-year-old man with Cerebral Palsy. In both situations I would take them out into the community for various activities including bowling, restaurants, etc. I am very patient and nurturing but firm.
