I recently completed the Multiple Subject Credential Program at Cal State Long Beach, where I completed both the instruction and the student teaching to receive my credential in Elementary Schooling. I have experience with students pre k-high school. I began working with youth as early as in high school where I worked with as a childcare leader for the Saddle-back Valley Unified School district. Later I ventured into volunteering at Think Together helping students with homework after school while attending college. After completing my education at UC, Irvine I worked shortly for BLAST in Long Beach, which I was responsible for approximately 15 at risk students. It was a very rewarding job and continued to work with use although at a coming which planned, developed and executed high school events and dances (homecoming, winter formals, proms, grad nights, etc.) After working in that field I returned back to school to receive my credentials in Elementary Teaching (Multiple Subject Teaching Credential).
Additionally, I have experience working as a personally higher special education aide for a family who had one non-verbal autistic child and another with Aspergers. I worked with the family and cared for the children five days a week while attending a summer program, which included field trips, socializing them, and home-care until the family arrived. I have a very diverse background and am passionate in helping those around me.
Since 2009 I have also been a substitute elementary teacher for the Los Alimitos Unified School District. I have had the pleasure to gain experience in all grade levels and additionally teaching Art. Beginning Jan-May 2011 I also was hired as an Intervention Specialist for grade 3 Math. In this program I was in charge of approximately 10 students, 3 days a week, creating and implementing lessons which would help students develop their math skills needed to pass their 3rd grade math. It was a very rewarding experience and provided me with the opportunity to refine my time management, organization and communication skills.
I hope this provides you with the additional information you may need to feel confident and comfortable in making the best decision for your family.
