“ I starting tutoring about five years ago when my younger sister who is now in college asked me to help her with her math. I loved helping and as people got word of how enthusiastic and helpful I was, I began to acquire a significant number of tutees. I help students understand and apply math of all levels - from basic mathematical operations up through AP Calculus AB.

I starting tutoring about five years ago when my younger sister who is now in college asked me to help her with her math. I loved helping and as people got word of how enthusiastic and helpful I was, I began to acquire a significant number of tutees. I help students understand and apply math of all levels - from basic mathematical operations up through AP Calculus AB.

I also help students with written assignments. My mother was an English major and my grandmother was an English teacher, so my love of and aptitude with words is not as surprising as my love of and aptitude with numbers. I used to work mostly with students in middle school and high school but recently I have spent more time helping college students and next year I will be working in the writing center at Oberlin College where I attend school to help my peers with their writing.

I am also an experienced swim instructor and lifeguard. When it comes to sports, water is my arena. I was a competitive swimmer for 10 years and captained my high school swim team, which won City Finals three of my four years. I first started teaching swim lessons as a volunteer for the Westside Special Olympics Swim Team where I worked mostly with adults struggling with intellectual and physical obstacles. Last summer I enjoyed teaching lessons to children ages 3 to 12 both privately and as an employee of Westside Aquatics. During the school year I love teaching lessons and life guarding at Oberlin College in Ohio while I attend college there. This summer I am excited to be working as lifeguard and swim instructor at the YMCA and for private employers.
