In teaching, I genuinely enjoy working alongside early learners, infant through elementary school-aged, and being a member of a team, including parents, whose goal it is to give your child the best chances at success in early childhood, and in school. I adore children, and my favorite moments include witnessing a child overjoyed with the sense of accomplishment that comes from achieving a goal, or succeeding at something they were working hard at, whether it be a goal to write, draw, behave a little better, or whatever they are striving for. Parents have written notes to my superiors thanking me for my fun-loving, warm, caring, and engaging manner, both as a babysitter, teacher's assistant, and also as a job coach when working as a supported employment consultant at an agency, for individuals I was tasked with coaching at their jobs.
I love the learning through play technique, and take notes constantly from mentors who are teachers, principals of schools, and also outstanding moms. I also worked briefly at a school who actively employed the High Scope technique, and I find that to be a very powerful tool which I use often. My philosophy in terms of being a child development associate, are that children are unique in their sense of the world around them. It is with patience, openness, and a fondness for the sense of wonderment that is childhood, that I approach my work. I will always be an advocate for the children, individuals with developmental disabilities, and families who hire me to be a part of their team in ensuring their loved ones receive the best possible care. I love caretaking and teaching, and providing quality care with a compassionate, warm, and fun-loving manner is ingrained in my personality. Best wishes and good luck in your search!!
