I have extensive tutoring and teaching experience at the elementary-school level in Massachusetts and New York. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education Studies from Brown University, and as an undergraduate I coordinated two literacy tutoring programs for elementary-school students in the Providence, Rhode Island, public schools. I received my Master's Degree in Elementary Inclusive Education and Teaching Students with Disabilities in 2011 from Teachers College, Columbia University, and am licensed in Elementary Education and Teaching Students with Moderate Disabilities. I have substitute-taught and tutored throughout Massachusetts, most recently serving as a fifth-grade long-term substitute teacher in Wayland. I also have babysat and tutored for many families. I see teaching and tutoring not as a job, but as an experience and an art. It is an opportunity to shape children to be knowledgeable, inquisitive, and enthusiastic human beings and prepare them to help make a positive impact on society. A teacher and tutor must believe in students and their abilities, and adapt his or her style to ensure that all students have the richest and most fulfilling educational experience possible.
