I have tutored over 100 students in the past few years in math, English, and standardized tests. My undergraduate degree was as a math major; I earned a master's degree in meteorology. I have worked as a writer for 30 years. My eclectic background allows me to interact successfully with all kinds of students.

I consider standardized tests to be my specialty: SAT, ACT, GED, ASVAB, TOEFL, SSAT, and FCAT. The multiple-choice format of these tests requires a particular kind of preparation. My experience working for a game company comes in handy, as strategy is most important.

My style is fairly informal, I like to be called Coach as I believe it is critical to put the student at ease. But, I know when to challenge the student, also. My teaching method is to work with each student's strength; in some cases a novel approach is required.

I personally keep in shape by competing in triathlons. I'm active at 71, and so far age has only helped me when I tutor younger people to prepare them for what life has in store.
