My name is Jessica and I am a senior at Gordon College (MA) pursuing degrees in English, Creative Writing, and Sociology. This past year, I studied abroad at Oxford University (UK).

As a high-achieving student, I believe I can be a great role model and tutor for younger students. This past semester, I came home with a 4. 0 from Oxford and, at Gordon, I have maintained a Major GPA of 3.87. I also attended an elite preparatory school, The Taft School (CT), where I excelled predominantly in English, History, and Science courses. I achieved a 780 in Reading and a 710 in Writing on the SAT which put me in the 99th and 98th percentiles at the time. My total score was 2140.

I have some experience tutoring, primarily in ESL. I volunteered in 2009 at an adult ESL program. In 2008, I also tutored an elementary-school student from South Korea. She began without any knowledge of basic English vocabulary and grammar, but successfully completed 4th grade in a year. I developed my own curriculum, personalizing it to the girl's interests and passions. I hope to create a similarly fun environment for your child this summer.
