I am a full-time, tenured college professor taking a sabbatical for the 2012-2013 academic year to be with my son. I am seeking tutoring positions for reading, writing, grammar, ESL listening/speaking/pronunciation, etc. I have experience with all ages and levels.

My BA is in Linguistics with a minor in Sociology. My MA is in Applied Linguistics. I am a grammar guru, have an Advanced ESL Teaching Certificate, and will be working on a Postsecondary Reading Certificate during my sabbatical.

I have taught various college courses, ranging from ESL paragraph writing/grammar and reading all the way up through freshman comp and reading. In addition to reading and writing, I have taught academic listening/speaking for ESL students at the college level. When I lived in Japan, my language school students ranged from 6 months old to 75 years old.

I can teach all skills, levels, and ages. I will not do your homework or write your papers for you, but I will help you learn. For one-on-one tutoring, I charge $50 an hour if you want me to travel somewhere and $40 an hour if you come to my home. For each additional student, please add $10 an hour to the cost.
