My tutoring children began when I started college. School was always hard for me and in my first yer in college I wanted to understand why. So I went and paid out of pocket for a test. This test gave me back results that explained so much. I went through almost all my education years never knowing this. I have ADHD and dyslexia and not one teacher caught on. I just remember being so frustrated and yes though I passed, it never felt like I passed because I was just good. It was more of my ability to keep trying that helped me get far. Not to say it's a bad thing. But nonetheless my confidence in my work wasn't were it should have been. So with that said having disabilities didn't keep me back or disabled me in any kind of way. But my life would have been a lot easier if I had known it. Knowing what you have lets you deal with it straight on and get stronger from it.

So though I probably won't become a big shot attorney and get into education reform and actually do something about this. I'm sure I am not the only child that has gone through something like this. I most definitely do feel I can help someone else. I had tutoring for so many years and yet no one really helped me. One thing I know is every one learns different and finding that and nurturing it can do so much. I would like to know and feel I'm helping someone in that way. So that's why I tutor.
