I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education and have a passion for teaching and caring for children. I taught 5th grade for two years in Louisiana and have now moved to Jacksonville because of my husband's Naval orders. I have experience tutoring students for the Leap and iLeap. I have also made house calls to tutor students in Reading, Writing, and Math. The age levels I have tutored/taught range from second grade (7-8 years) to fifth grade (10-13). My goal is for every student to improve and reach their individual goal, no matter how high that goal may be. I am a firm believer in using manipulatives and hands-on activities to help students better understand and retain the information they are learning. This is proven to help students connect the information to real-life experiences and thus are able to remember the information better. I also taught and was an Associate Director at a Learning Center in North Jax for seven months and worked with children daily ranging in age from 5-21 years old.
