I've spent the past 25 years teaching children, teens and adults, and working with families to create balance and improve the quality of life in their homes. Nurturing the quality of self worth in the individuals I teach is a key aspect of my focus. Success at math is not as much a matter of intelligence as it is an ability to build upon a skill, level by level. That skill is like a chain that's only as strong as it's weakest link. Any skill level left unmastered will cause everything that comes thereafter to feel like a stab in the dark. When a student's confidence is compromised in this way they grow to believe they "can't do math". My focus is on identifying the missing pieces, and building from that point until the appropriate skill level is mastered.
