Hello, I am a mother, educator, friend, mentor and best of all a Child of God. I enjoy working with young people and feel that I am able to connect and understand school aged children.
I work in a Self-Contained Middle School Learning Disabled class. I have been employed with the same district for 15 years.
Before coming into the school system, I cared for children with and without special needs in my home. I have also worked in the corporate world, but find working with young people much more fulfilling.
Along with being in the classroom, I have worked with children in after school care, cared for special needs children in my home, their home and at school. I tutor in all areas of elementary and middle school curriculum except middle school math.
I have two grown children. My oldest now teaches High School AP Geography and History. The youngest just graduated college with an English Degree she is a budding author.
I feel children that have learning differences should be treated with respect and kindness, with an understanding that they are far more than the title at the end of their name.
