The first time I walked into a classroom to tutor I felt like I had finally come home. As a career changer I can honestly say this is the first time I've done work that feels rewarding and certainly has proven challenging. I'm currently working with two companies, Tutor Train and Club Z, as part of the no Child Left Behind Act. My students are mostly underprivileged or English is their second language. My experience is with reading, writing and math, although we sometimes talk about animals, biology, history, science and other topics of interest to the student. I've discovered it enhances their learning experience and is great way to reward older students for finishing their homework or completing the lesson plans I've incorporated. I do have a CO teaching license and have also passed the PLACE exam. Bottom line, I love working with children and young adults and want to continue to help the next generation succeed.
