I have been teaching for over 20 years and find it very rewarding. I have tremendous patience and enjoy each and every student God brings my way.

I believe in using my enthusiasm and knowledge for music to help my students, teaching them how to practice correctly and to have proper technique right from the start. This includes teaching students to listen to themselves for sound quality and good intonation. Ear training and theory are always incorporated into every lesson.

Besides beginners, I always enjoy teaching both transfer and more advanced students - figuring out how to best help them at their point of arrival at my studio. I also like to do short term coaching with more advanced students, such as those with upcoming recitals or auditions.

I also teach those with disabilities of any age, including those with cognitive, or physical handicaps. I devise a plan that will help with overall function, which includes teaching specific exercises I incorporate into the lesson/practice.

My professional performance experience currently includes being a member of Ft. Collins Symphony, and a sub with Cheyenne Symphony.

I have been involved in starting up after school music programs at TPAAK School (presently), New Vision Charter (last year) and Trinity Christian (2006-2008). Presently I'm also one of the main referred teachers over at Boomers Music Store.

I am a member of Colorado Music Teacher's Association, which keeps me abreast of current teaching trends and allows my students additional performance opportunities.

My education includes:
A Master of Music degree in viola performance - Colorado State University - Courses in Music Therapy were also taken while attending CSU.

A Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance - University of Southern California

Full fellowships/participation at Banff Centre in Canada (Winter Cycle), Congress of Strings, Music Academy of the West, Blossom Music Festival, Fountainebleu School of Fine Arts in France, Chamber Music Festival at the Univ. of Nebraska, Orvieto Music Festival in Italy and Bornoff String Workshop in Boston.

Main teachers include Eudice Shapiro, Milton Thomas, Shirley Givens, Margaret Miller.

Chamber Music coaches include Alice and Eleanor Schoenfeld, The Kronos String Quartet, Chiara Quartet.
