Hello and thank you for reading my bio! My name is Courtney Lynn. I am a rising senior at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg but I am home for summer here in Virginia Beach. I am a Psychology major looking to attend a doctorate program in School Psychology when I graduate in Spring 2013. I have always loved working with children since a very young age and my career goals reflect this. I am specifically interested in working with children in a school setting, so tutoring is the perfect job for me! I have been tutoring children since I was a senior in high school. I have tutored for children in elementary school, middle school, high school, and college in a variety of subjects. I am very personable and easy to work with. This makes for a very good tutoring atmosphere in which the child feels comfortable asking questions and is receptive to me. I enjoy making complicated material easy to understand and watching the light bulb go off once the child finally "gets it." There is not a better feeling in the world than a child taking pleasure in and control of his or her own learning.
