I am a certified English teacher (grades 7 to 12) with 7 years of classroom experience. I specialize in development of writing, both technical skill and creative expression as well as literature comprehension and appreciation. The majority of my classroom experience is with alternative/ at-risk youth. I have a special appreciation for students frustrated with the traditional classroom and standardized test. My teaching strategies are multi-sensory, responsive, and results-oriented. My approach helped my students pass CAPT at a high rate for the population. My interests include nonfiction travel and biography as well as multicultural literature. I hold degrees from Adelphi University and Dartmouth College. My 015 certification is valid through May of 2016.
