I have 7 years of classroom teaching under my belt and I am a certified elementary K-6, as well as special education teacher K-12. I am a gifted mathematician, and I am working on becoming certified in Middle School Science, then Math in the fall. I love working with small children, Pre-K to 4 as well as middle school, 5 to 8. I do not look at teaching as a profession, but instead it is who I am as a person. I am very caring, and bond very easily with children. This is because I will get to know your child, then I will use this information to either help them with their studies or derive lesson plans, after assessing the state curriculum. I know how to bond with children by showing I care and tapping into their interests. In addition, I am well versed in compiling lesson plans that not only meet your child's learning modality, but also incorporate manipulative, art, music, film, or drama. Therefore, I make lessons fun instead of a dreaded endeavor. Finally, through many websites, I have access to boatloads of practice sheets in any area where your child needs practice. I started out as an accountant when I graduated from Rutgers in 1989, then two years later I started teaching religious education to third graders. Within the first 10 minutes of the first night, I knew this was what I was meant to do. I never imagined it was going to be such a moving and rewarding experience. So I kept on teaching religious education and as soon as my husband and I had the money, I went back to school for a Master's in Education, and I never looked back. I have been tutoring since March 2012 grades K-12, mainly children with ADHD, and Autism spectrum. I also have extensive experience with K-6 mathematics, and pre-algebra, 7-9 algebra 1. I love being in the classroom, but I am also thrilled to teach one on one with a student by being a tutor, Please contact me and you will be glad you did.
