While in high school I was part of the first ever graduating class in Aurora Public Schools to graduate through the AVID program. After graduation I began working as a tutor for the program and continued there at both the middle school and high school level for 4 years, until the program was discontinued at the school. I assisted the students with mathematics homework as well as helping them study and prepare for in-class activities and exams. While working with the program I also performed college entrance exam and application assistance, helping with ACT study guides and proof reading application essays. After the AVID program I worked for the Upward Bound program at the University of Northern Colorado, performing many of the same activities. Along with working for these two college preparatory programs I have experience working in classrooms through my education program at the University of Northern Colorado while working toward my math degree to teach at a secondary level.
