I am an experienced tutor who loves working with students of all ages. I graduated from UC Davis with a B. A. in English and a minor in Education. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree and credential in School Counseling. I have many years of experience working in elementary and middle school classrooms. A few years ago I worked in the Reading Lab at a Walnut Creek elementary school tutoring 1st - 5th graders and helping them improve their reading and writing skills. I have also worked in a 6th grade Math and Science class and have interned at a Walnut Creek high school. I have also worked as a Special Education Assistant in Mt. Diablo Unified and have experience working with students with special needs. I have worked as a private tutor for 5 years, working both at a professional tutoring center and on my own, going to student's homes for private tutoring. I have experience tutoring students of all ages, from 1st through 12th grade. With elementary and middle school students, I often help students build solid foundations in English and Math. In English, we often work on building skills in reading comprehension, writing, grammar and spelling. In Math, we often working on building skills in working with fractions, decimals, estimation, long division and multiplication, and word problems. With high school students, I have helped students prepare for (and pass!) the California Exit Exam. I also have experience helping high school seniors write college essays, senior project papers, and preparing their college applications.
With every client, I tailor my tutoring services to meet your child's needs. I would be happy to provide references and/or a resume. I look forward to meeting you!
