I am a recent graduate from University of Massachusetts-Boston with a Master's of Education degree in School Counseling.

Prior to relocating to Maryland in August of 2011, I was employed by Sportsmen's Tennis club where I managed The Ready Position After School Program. This program is designed for students from first to fifth grade. I served as the Lead Teacher and provided lessons that helped the students strengthen their academic skills. I also provided one on one tutoring for a student that required the extra support. I supervised the young adult workers hired to help out in the after school program. I also provided college-counseling workshops for high school students that were involved with tennis club.

In September 2010, I had the opportunity to work as a guidance intern at Urban Science Academy. Even though I was an intern, there were times where I offered ideas and collaborated with my supervisor when it came to supporting the students on various situations. I was able to make decisions that had a positive impact on students' career planning. I was responsible for giving the new students information about the school what courses that were offered as well as provide a tour of the school. I served as an academic adviser for a caseload of students. I provided classroom workshops that focused on different career paths. I worked with seniors on a daily basis and guided them through the college application process. College counseling was a major part of the guidance department. I also served as an adviser for group of students where English was their second language. I co-developed a teen pregnancy support intervention with another intern. I have gained sufficient knowledge using technology to enrich student learning. There were times where I would greet visitors that would come into the guidance office and handle any administrative offices duties that were present at the time. I have worked within a number of school systems for the past couple of years and have a strong educational background. Throughout my employment I gained practical experience working at numerous community centers. I look forward to incorporating my growing leadership and advocacy skills while contributing to the organization.

In the past, I worked for Needham Public Schools where I served as a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Special Education. I held that position for three years. I worked with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and provided inclusion support for these student.
