I have recently relocated to Wilmington. Before coming here, I spent 6 1/2 months in New Zealand where I was able to work in varying and diverse childcare centers and then worked with a nannying company on the South Island. I was also able to travel frequently in New Zealand and even took a trip to Australia. I learned so much through this trip and I am very pleased with how much I believe that will benefit future students of mine.
I graduated with honors from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. I earned my degree in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education, so I completed three different student teaching experiences. One in Preschool, one in second grade, and the last in fifth grade. I enjoyed them all greatly. In each experience, I worked in small groups and in one-on-one situations with students. I did a child study during the preschool experience to discover the best ways to move the student forward. I found this project to be very helpful to the student. These one-on-one situations were some of the most rewarding. It is truly worth it to me to plan and implement as many methods as are needed until the student is able to reach the moment of understanding. I am a patient and compassionate person and really focus in on the fact that each student learns in different ways.
I have been blessed with awesome opportunities that have enabled me to be with all the age groups from infants through sixth graders. So I am more than happy to tutor any child within that range. My emphasis was in English/History, so I would also be open to the middle school age students within those subjects. I have very flexible hours and will be happy to work out the best times for the student and family.
