I currently hold a teaching certificate in Ohio to teach Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade and am also licensed to teach K-8 in Michigan. I taught second grade last year and am currently teaching fourth and fifth grade. Before holding these teaching positions, I completed field work in kindergarten and first grade classrooms as part of my undergraduate and graduate studies. I volunteered at a community center where I tutored students from first to eighth grade. I have also worked as a nanny for eight years and cared for children ages 0 to 10 years old. A majority of the eight years I spent as a nanny was with children ages 3-7. I helped prepare the younger children for pre-school and kindergarten and assisted the older children with enhancing their abilities, both socially and academically. I primarily focused on Mathematics, reading and writing when working with children, however many strategies that I taught could be applied across the spectrum of subject areas. I am willing to tutor elementary aged students on a regular basis and am prepared to bring my own materials to aid and enhance instruction.
