Former middle school science teacher and tutor who is passionate about education and instilling a love for learning is seeking opportunities to tutor during late summer and this coming school year. Although my degree is in Neuroscience, I helped to refine an integrated curriculum within my former school and have strong writing, math, and language skills as well. Although I am open to tutoring any age, I particularly enjoy working with middle school/high school students as they challenge me with so many thought-provoking questions as they begin to formulate their own opinions and call theories into question for the first time. As a middle school teacher, I particularly enjoyed the opportunities to work 1:1 with students and recognize that each student has individual learning styles and needs that must be tapped in order to encourage a zest for learning. From kinesthetic to verbal learners, from introverted to extroverted, each child has a unique way of experiencing the world and absorbing material and I strive to meet each one where they are, encouraging growth from there.
