Teacher Bio - Amanda B. holds a BFA with a concentration in Metals and Education from Arcadia University. She has an up-to-date Child Abuse, Criminal Background Check, and TB test available for verification. She is PA state-certified to teach K-12, who currently teaches at the Whitemarsh Art Center, in addition to tutoring between the ages of 4 to 35 for the last 8 years. As an artist, Ms. B. has extensively studied Illustration, Printmaking, Photography, Painting, Ceramics, and Metalwork, which is reflected in her multi-media work. She flexibly creates lessons based on the individual students ' desires and needs.
She tutors students from the age 4+ in the following mediums:
Painting - watercolor, tempera, acrylic, oil paint, pastels (oil, soft)
Drawing - pencil, color pencils, charcoal, ink
Sculpture - air-dry clay, sculpy clay
Digital photography - if student has the software, we can use Paint, and/or Photoshop to learn how to manipulate images in addition to how to create dynamic images and lighting
Multi-media - random materials, including and not bound by plaster strips, metal wire, and anything we can think of using - Great for exercising skills in creativity
Parents/Guardians/student are responsible for the art supplies for the student.
Standard Materials needed - Standard #2 pencils, scrap paper, sharpener, over sized shirt or apron for students clothing, newspaper, plastic cup, sponge (to keep space cleaner). Supply lists for individual student needs will be discussed.
Time length of lessons: 1-3 hours - Cost of session includes, lesson time, lesson example supplies, and teacher transportation, and payment is due in cash or check at the end of each lesson.
The number of students, length of time of lesson and millage will adjust and determine the cost of the lesson. Supplies can be purchased at A C Moores, or Michaels in advanced by parents. Ms. B. requires 2 weeks ' notice to a lesson scheduling.
