I am a chemical engineering major at Florida Institute of Technology about to finish my sophomore year. I occasionally volunteer to tutor high school students in math, economics and English at an after-school program called Club Esteem in Melbourne, Fl. I also tutored a middle school student in elementary science. I tutor because I enjoy it and it helps me review past topics.
I currently work as an intern for a water treatment company in Orlando called Ferrate Treatment technologies as part of FIT's co-op program. My current job involves research, lab work, chemistry and solving basic engineering problems. I tutored classmates in high school upon my teachers requests in chemistry, literature and European and west African history. I have worked as a columnist and proofreader for The Business Eye magazine, in Lagos Nigeria. After my freshman year, my GPA was 3. 31 and cumulative GPA is now 2. 73 but I am currently taking online courses that will affect GPA at the end of the semester in May. I am the president of the National Society of Black Engineers-FIT chapter and have been secretary of other major organizations on campus.
