My son is in his second month at TCA. He is almost five months old. When we placed him at TCA, my husband & I noticed an immediate positive change in our son. He was happier and more calm in the evening than he had been at his previous daycare. Maxine & Shirley & the rest of the staff in the baby room are absolutely wonderful. They are experienced and friendly and I have never felt uncomfortable leaving my child in their care. He comes home happy, fed, and with a dry diaper every single day. The ladies send an information sheet home with him every day and they even make detailed notes in the margins for me. I love how they communicate everything to me, and the cameras are viewable online so I can check up on my little guy whenever I want to.

The owner, Amanda, is absolutely wonderful. She is cheerful & energetic & greets me every morning with a warm smile. She is always having the kids working on some sort of art project or fun day (they recently had "bike day"), and today she was setting up super cute props in the front lawn of the daycare to take spring pictures of all the kiddos!

I have nothing but good things to say about TCA. I only wish they had been around sooner when my older two were younger!

We have had our son at TCA since August of this year and have been very pleased with the level of care provided for him. We find the staff to be very caring and professional. Our son enjoys the time he is there! It breaks my heart when some mornings I drop him off and I feel he is more excited to see his teacher and friends then he is staying with me. I love how we can pop in for a few minutes during the day and watch him on the camera. I would highly recommend TCA to anyone in the need of child care service!

The infant room was AMAZING! Loved it. The price is affordable. Most of all the location is perfect. I like the watch me grow web cam. I have never had to worry about if my children are being taken care of.

TCA is the best. Hands down. It kills me to see people who are bitter and unhappy seek self satisfaction by tearing down someone like Amanda. She is a gem, and I have been around daycare's my whole life, and I say with conviction, that you will NEVER find another center director like her ANYWHERE. She knows and loves each child and their family, and those feelings are 100% reciprocated. When you walk in to the school, there is always a feeling of comfort, and the hustle and bustle of happy children and busy classrooms. This school, and Amanda focus on the things that matter like happy children, reliable staff members who love your children and an age appropriate cirriculum that challenges your child while making them eager to learn. Like Eugene below, my family members have also picked up my daughter and have always told me how helpful and wonderful Amanda and the teachers are. I can also attest to how happy the other parents are just as happy as me. Every time we have a class party, there are always lots of parents and grandparents that turn out and we always talk about how much we love the school and the teachers. I am sorry that Mr. Eugene did not feel like the other parents used enough words to express their satisfaction, and that he feels like they are false, but again, it take a very big person to take the high road in a situation. But the thing that concerns me the most is a person who will leave a negative review for a center that he has never stepped foot in and then expects us to believe his words as truth. So, in closing, I would like to say that my daughter and I have both stepped foot into TCA and would like to encourage you to join us. For those parents who are concerned about any of this man's accusations, the center has a camera system (which they do not charge extra for) that offers you a live streaming video of your child's classroom. The system allows you to peek in whenever you want and see exactly what is going on. I ask you this, would a center who is as horrible as Mr. P. claims it to be install a camera system exposing there every move? I don't think so!

As a parent it takes quite a bit of trust to leave your child in the hands of a capable person who is going to care for your child as much as you would when you are with them. This was not the case with TCA and while my child has not been there for a while, when I saw the amount of reviews that were good about this business I felt it was time to speak up. At first when I enrolled my child I was quite happy with they way things were going I did not mind the atmosphere, it was very friendly and inviting and I felt safe with my child going there. Yet after some time I grew concerned when I started to take my child there and she would cry to the point as if she was in pain. This did not sit right with me as a parent. About this time I started to notice the great deal of times that I would pick up my child and I would be informed that she had a blowout diaper. At the time I did not think much of it I took the clothing home and washed it. I was then informed by both sets of grandparents (who each took their turn picking her up 1 or 2 days a week) that when they would pick my child up that not only was her blow outs not poop at all but it was urine. Also it grew to be more common that when my wife picked her up her diaper would be full and she would have to change my child as soon as I got her home. This became an even larger concern when I noticed that at home my child went through a change almost every hour if not a little over. But I could take 8 diapers to the center with her and she would return with 5 and for a 6-month-old child this is not possible. The owner would also often talk about other parent's personal information to myself and my wife. This led us to wonder what she was telling other people about us! When I started to express my concerns with the owner things did not go well. My wife also felt corned and we left to take her to another daycare/school. Upon switching my child to a different center that is also Montessori based I noted a very large change in my child's mood. She was happy and excited about going to school and she would come home tired from learning and having so much fun throughout the day. (She still attends this facility and enjoys every day!) This leads to me to believe that the business practices held by the owner of TCA do not have your child's best interest in mind. The turnover rate of the staff ifs also a concern - how is your child to grow if there is no stability to build a foundation for them to grow and learn when it is needed most. This business and I will use this term loosely, is not for your child. While I do recognize that it has been some time since my child has been here many of the reviews that you will read are from nine months to a few years ago. This center just opened in February, it was previously run from her home so those reviews from 10 months to 2 years ago regarding this specific center have to either be for the previous school that was in this facility or are false and made up by someone who would like the school to look better than it is. Also, most of the reviews are short and do not provide the sufficient details to back up the claim of a well run care center except for the most recent which truly shows the reality of goes on in this business and it apparently has not changed in the past 8 to 9 months. Please please please for your child's best interest and welfare - this is not the place for them.
Owner response: This is a review that is being left by a parent whose child NEVER attended Texas Children's Academy. NEVER. She was in my home daycare for a very brief time. She was a very happy baby who did have several blowouts and did have daily outfit changes because we did not want her to sit in soiled clothes. The child was only in care for about 5 hours a day and we would change her diaper as often as she needed it. I don't feel the need to publicly discuss some of the issue that I had with the parents, but I will say that when she left we were both ready for it to happen. On a positive note, our center is not perfect, but it is, as you can read, fantastic. Every single family that was at my home center, with the exception of this one, and are still with me today. As far as my staff turnover, My staff members who were at my home daycare, still work for me and we all remember her as a happy baby. Please keep in mind that while everyone does have freedom of speech, there is no law saying they have to speak the truth. As any body can tell you, it is impossible to please everyone, and even the best of centers isn't a perfect fit for everyone. Our center, our staff and our students speak for themselves. We hope you come by and check us out.

My husband and I researched multiple child care location while I was pregnant because we knew that I would be going back to work when my son was 4 months old. We chose TCA because of the owner, Amanda. She is great! So energetic and full of great ideas. She puts so much into making TCA and all of its staff and children a family. I was nervous about leaving my baby in the hands of someone else, but if I have to leave him, this is where he needs to be. The teachers in the infant room give him all the attention he needs and love and snuggle him as if he were their own. They are so communicative with my husband and I about what is going on with him during the day. (ie: teething, odd eating habits, etc) He is happy and smiling everyday when I drop him off, he LOVES his teachers. Additionally the camera system that gives me the opportunity to log on from my computer at work and check on him throughout the day is awesome. I always know what he is up to, & I can see him when I start missing him! I highly recommend TCA to any new parent. (in fact, we did! one of my husband's co-workers are going to be sending their new baby here, too!)

The best daycare center in town! We moved to Texas a year ago from California and the center was convenient because it's right down the street from the house. We had our ups and downs until Amanda took it over and I have to say we made a great decision of giving it another try and leaving our daughter there. She has developed some great friends that she asks to see, even on the weekends. There are always great events going on that bring the children and parents together. Staff members are awesome - they are sure to keep the parents updated about what went on during the day and if there are any issues and/or concerns. I highly recommend the center to anyone and everyone out there looking for a place they can trust!

My daughter and I LOVE this daycare! We moved to the DFW area about 6 months ago, and after watching my daughter cry for 2 months straight at the initial daycare I chose for her, I decided it was time to make a change. I interviewed several centers when making my decision to switch, and upon touring Texas Children's Academy, I knew I had found my match! The staff is friendly, professional, and I am very impressed with the appearance of the center and the technology that is offered to the children. It also gives me peace of mind to know that I can view my daughter whenever I like. Their menu for the children also weighed heavily on my final decision. They offer "healthier" options, such as ground turkey, turkey dogs, and fresh fruits and vegetables rather than canned, while still making the meal yummy for the kids. I can't thank Amanda (owner) and her staff for making my little girl feel welcome and comfortable in such a crazy time in our lives. She loves all of her new friends, and especially her teacher, Miss Rhea. I am continually impressed with all that she is learning, as she can write better than I could at the age of 4, and is starting to read simple words and spell! Amanda works hard to make her center extra special for the parents, puts a lot of thought into the activities planned, and is very involved in the daily happenings in her center. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else for my child! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I can not say enough about how grateful I am for TCA! It is such a frightening thing to leave your precious child in the care of someone else, but TCA makes it a whole lot easier. My daughter loves her teacher, the environment she spends her day in and the FOOD!!!! She is in a safe, fun and positive environment and I am a grateful mommy!!!!!

At first, I resisted putting my two-year-old son in day care, because I took all those daycare horror stories to heart. But I had no choice but to place him in February. I asked a really good mom of a toddler at my church where she takes her daughter, and that's how we found Texas Children's Academy. More than anything, Amanda (the owner and director) wants to make sure everyone feels at home when they are at Texas Children's Academy which has such a charming d cor, and caring staff and a great curriculum. I feel good about leaving my son here because it is so safe. In just a short while after acquiring the building, Amanda instituted great safety measures: a code at the door, a computerized check-in system with thumb print identification technology and installed cameras in all of the classrooms. I get to watch my son during my breaks at work and it always warms my heart to see the connections he has with his teachers and his playmates. For what they offer, the tuition here is more than affordable. They offer home cooked breakfast and lunch, which my son just loves. And I like that the menu has a wide variety of healthy foods. The teachers are so attached to the kids and let them exhibit their own personalities. They read stories aloud, prepare crafts, sing songs, go over letters and numbers and keep the kids active all day long. What they will not do though is judge your parenting style, which I'm thankful for as a first time mom, but they will always give sound advice if you ask them questions. I also wanted to add that they exhibit exceptional grace and professionalism during crisis, which a mom hopes never has to happen, but as a mom is so reassuring. When that tornado outbreak happened over the spring, one of the twisters touched down nearby, knocking out the power for miles around. The teachers evacuated all the children to a safe area and kept them calm. When we came to get my son, they were pretending that they were camping and were having so much fun. My son had no idea anything had happened and we were more scared than he was! Texas Children's Academy is simply the best!
