My first experience with students with special needs came in high school, when I volunteered at Special Olympics of Bucks County as a swimming coach. I spent two full years coaching children with special needs, and I continued this commitment into college by completing a degree in Social Studies Education at Boston University. I completed a student-teaching practicum, as well as many other various external programs, at schools both in the suburbs and in the inner-city of Boston. At all of these schools, I interacted with students with special needs on a daily basis, and while at The English High School, I taught classes with a dominant majority of students with special needs and English Language Learners.

I also have been a day camp counselor at Newtown Day Camp (PA) for five summers, and I have experience taking care of many children at one time, some of which have special needs, such as allergies, ADD, and ADHD. I have recommendations and references upon request, and I have up to date child abuse clearance and a PA criminal background check.
