Hello! My name is Walker D. and I am a motivated, reliable, passionate, and caring 26-year-old male who has recently moved back to the beautiful Tri-Cities. I have worked in the special needs field relatively my whole life (as my mother is a 30+ years Life Skills Teacher). I am looking for potential (infant - young adult) clients. I have a range of skills and training working with a wide spectrum of intellectual and behavior type disabilities (Down Syndrome, Autism, fragile x, etc.) and am comfortable providing care to any range of needs.
My previous job qualifications (in this related field) are as follows:
Camp Counselor at Partners N Pals (Arc of Tri-Cities) from 2001-2007
Care Provider (contracted through DDD) from 2003-2006
Support Staff at Tri Cities Residential (2004-2006)
Life Skills Para Educator (KaHS) from 2006-2007
Supervisor for 'At Work' special needs work crew in Issaquah WA (2007-2008)
Summer Camp support at a community recreation center (Summer of 2008)
Care Provider for Brighton Enterprises (2008- 2010)
I have worked and volunteered in numerous areas of the special needs field. I have worked with a varying range of clients in both age and levels of physical and mental disabilities, professionally, for 10+ years. Working with this community is a passion of mine and has served to be the most enjoyable portion of my life. In the long run, I have aspirations to become a life skills teacher. My hours of availability are currently wide open and I am hoping to provide care for multiple clients. I have contacted DDD and will be able to renew my contract as soon as I have a client attached with them.
Please feel free to e-mail me any questions or inquiries and I will respond quickly. I can also provide my phone number via an e-mail contact if you prefer. I truly look forward to hearing from you and hopefully providing service where it is desired! Thank you for your time.
