I have 11 years of experience in caring for individuals with special needs. I was a direct care giver for years as well as a supervisor of those providing direct care. I have worked with individuals in the age ranges of 3 years old to 65 years old with various diagnoses. Over my 11 year career in this field I excelled at various aspects, especially my ability to communicate and assist those who needed my help. My passion started with my grandfather who was a "rep" for multiple people with disabilities while I was growing up. He provided them with employment, took care of their finances, and had them over for dinner often (and almost every major holiday). The people he helped were an extension of our family and so when I was 21 years old I started working with children in this field and have been in the field since.

Families are responsible as household employers for complying with all applicable minimum wage laws, plus payroll, tax and other labor laws regarding employment of care providers.
