I have two years of experience working within the mental health field. I also earned my BA in Psychology last August. In the two wonderful years I worked with individuals who suffered from mental and physical disabilities, I gained a passion and understanding of the importance of my job. My primary job requirements were to develop goals with clients, observed goal accomplishment, and helped them to set new goals at appropriate times. I was also responsible for recording and organizing documents of overall health and daily activities of clients. In addition to this, I aided individuals in finding community activities and Special Olympics events in which to participate. Finally, I attended quarterly meetings with clients, the company through which I worked, and clients' place of work regarding the progress of the clients. In addition to these primary goals, I also worked within group homes and have experience passing medication. Individuals who suffer from mental and/or physical disabilities should be treated as whole individuals who are capable of many things. They need an environment in which learning and building relationships is encouraged. I want to be a part in this process for your loved one.
