I have a passion working with kids who have special needs. I plan on going into an occupational therapy assistant program in the future, so caring for special needs children is something I plan to make a part of my everyday life. Here is a bit of my experience in working with kids and adults with special needs.

My senior year of high school I had an unpaid internship at an Autism center where I was able to observe therapy sessions and work closely with kids of varying ages and degrees of Autism. I was a Personal Care Attendant (PCA) for a 7-year-old girl with Autism and the summer of 2009 I was a PCA for a 15-year-old boy with Autism. My uncle had Down Syndrome so I have experience in caring for and spending time with him. I've also had experience babysitting a 12 years old girl who was confined to a wheelchair. She was a sweet girl who needed lots of love, attention, and constant care. I will gladly send you my resume upon request.
