As an Certified Professional, Independent Provider/State Tested Nurse Assistant, Providing Homemaker Personal Care services to Individuals with Developmental Disabilities has always been my pleasure. 14 years ago, I learn I had an eagerness to listen and learn about many consumer needs. Their needs became important to me, I began to feel privilege to be in their present, their love lead me on a journey. I began working in group homes and community settings with clients with Developmental Disabilities. Furthering my education and knowledge of physical techniques and people skills has allowed me to become more productive in the field of care. I'm current with the state rules and regulations of continuing certification as a State Tested Nurse Assistant. My certification allowed me to work in many Nursing Homes and Hospitals these experiences has allow me to adapt to new situations with effective communication. I'm grateful to know by the end of my shift the consumer was appreciative to the services that had been provided. Knowing the services provided had been nurture with love, patients, and comfort. I've always been able to deliver high quality of care with dignity and respect. While using safe/effective methods with a clear emphasis on positive and proactive interventions. In the health care field we must use universal precaution for the safety of the consumer and the employee. Always, being able to serve as a strong and effective advocate for individuals. Demonstrate the ability to document services accurately. Assist or supervise individual with daily hygiene, prepare meals and snacks, arrange/participate during medical appointments, Assist or supervise with cleaning, laundry and errands. Comply with consumer rights and confidentiality. Being an companion, a creative problem solver. I strongly believe services provided to individuals are truly about their needs, their likes and dislikes. I always focus on the individual interest of different activities. I've participated in many events/activities of the individual choice such as Bowling, Movies, Dancing, Amusement Parks, Barbecue's, Skating, Parties, and Church etc. whatever recreation of fun that interest an individual was my fun. what excites me everyday knowing that there's a family member, somebody love one is out here in need of services, support, companionship and we are able to provide. Encouraging, helping restore balance back into their lives so that their love ones can remain at home.
