I have been trained in the STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) parenting style and taught STEP parenting classes for several years. STEP parenting involves using encouraging words, validating feelings and using natural consequence.

Two years ago I was given my severely handicapped 7-year-old grand daughter through CPS. She has Cerebral Palsy, autism and some retardation.

In the year she was with me she improved significantly and has now returned to her family home.

I then became an intensive therapeutic foster parent. I have worked with three children with special needs that were placed in my home.

They have all returned to their homes.

I am trained and certified in CPR and First Aid.

I am now looking to utilize my knowledge and experience to help support a family and maintain consistency with the family and therapy.
