I have a brother who has cerebral palsy. I have cared for him off and on since July of 2000. I also cared for my mother who had complications from a brain tumor. I moved in and took care of her for 2 years before she passed. I also had help from home hospice a couple times a week. It was such a blessing to have that help. I want to help someone else in that situation. I have a deep compassion and love for people with any disability. I feel a great sense of calling and purpose to help. I have also been working for the VNA for the past few months. I have learned a variety of services with this position. I am able to go to peoples homes and assist with bathing, dressing, meal prep, housecleaning, and shopping. I really enjoy it, but the traveling is just too much for my family.
