I have always been very passionate about working with children with special needs. I am currently working on getting my Bachelor's Degree in Biology in hopes of being able to work with children with special needs. My younger brother is autistic, therefore, my passion for children with special needs definitely hits close to home. I have worked with my brother for the past seven years in areas such as: language, math, behavior, science, art, and discipline. I have also volunteered and coordinated events that he and his friends partake in (i.e. camping trips, baseball games, barbecues, etc.). I have also volunteered at the Blind Children's Learning Center in Anaheim, CA, where I worked with children who had varying degrees of disabilities. I would like to continue to work with children and serve as a role model that everyone is capable of succeeding despite society's stigma of "disabilities".
