The past eight years of formal experience have included volunteering at several preschools and programs for children with special needs (ages 0-3), interning at a full-service early intervention preschool with 1-2-year-olds, and doing my senior year college internship for college at Florida's early intervention system that offers services to children with developmental disabilities and delays ages 0-3.
I absolutely love working with kids, and have always felt a connection to kids with special needs. I get a lot of joy out of the work I do, and look forward to becoming an occupational therapist in the future, either with babies in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) or with 0-3-year-olds with special needs.
I was certified in First Aid, CPR/AED-Child, and the use of Epi-pens last summer, and I will taking an refresher class in a few weeks.
For me, working with kids is so rewarding, especially watching how quickly they are able to pick up on things and learn. I enjoy being a part of their learning and development, and helping to facilitate it!
