I am a loving, patient, empty-nest mom. I raised a daughter with Asperger's syndrome. She also has mild Cerebral Palsy, and made terrific progress with a full continuum of resources. She had significant developmental delays, and is bipolar. My mom had a stroke this year, and I cared for her while she regained her speech and mobility. I cared for my dad during his later stages of cancer. I have been a volunteer with youth and adults with mental illness and served on a non-profit board of directors. I enjoy and value the unique specialness of youth and adults with special needs. I have taken ASL classes and enjoy using what I have learned to sign. Please be aware that I do not have medical training.
