I have worked in special education since 2007 ages 4-22. I currently work with Olive Crest Academy Therapeutic Education Center with students who have cognitive challenges as well as an emotional disturbance. Before working in the school setting I was a private nanny for 2 children for approximately 2 years. I have enjoyed learning how to serve the special need community better by furthering my education with discrete trial training, seizure protocols, PECS training, Pro-act and first aid and CPR. I also have taken 3 semesters of ASL and did about 4 months of braille transcriber lessons and mobility training. I actively participate in the Angelman syndrome community. I enjoy both the joys and challenges of working with children with special needs.
