I have several years experience working with people with special needs. I worked for a company that specialized in teaching life skills so that they could live life as independently as possible with our support. I started working for the company as the weekend shift and ended managing the apartment, the other staff and completing the required state paperwork. I believe that it is important for everyone to have the confidence and support to do what they can for themselves. The pride shows on their face when they can do for themselves. I know from my past clients, and also from my own son with special needs. It is exciting not only for them, but for their family and care givers to see them succeed.
