I am a highly reliable 28-year-old professional with a flexible schedule that allows me to provide help almost 24/7 if needed.

I work from home as a freelance research consultant specializing in the joint working between children's health and education services. I have good knowledge of children's typical development and some special needs, particularly communication delays or disorders. Before I moved here from the UK (Sept 2010), I was a Scout Leader for a disabled scout group (boys aged 8-18 with autism and cerbral palsy) and as a Youth Worker (mostly typically developing teenagers, both genders, but often with behavioral issues). Here in the US, I have been baby-sitting for a number of families, mostly infants and toddlers. I am genuinely good with young children and teenagers alike!

I have been on Care. com for 6 months now and have plenty work coming in from families requiring standard baby-sitting. For personal and professional reasons I would really like to gain some more experience in working with children with additional needs.

Available weekdays and occasional evenings or weekends, I am keen and able to provide respite care or regular companionship as needed.
