I have implemented approved programs of instruction to meet the needs of young children, including those with disabilities; assessed student achievement level, academic progress, socio-emotional maturity and determined student strengths and weaknesses. I have consulted with teachers, parents, administrators, related service providers and support staff in the development of 504 plans, IEP's and the monitoring of student academic performance. I've provided classroom support to teachers of disabled children in both general and inclusion settings and developing techniques for integrating these children into their classroom. I have been at Public Schools in Washington, DC, for the school year 2008 to 2009 as a PS/PK childhood SPED inclusion teacher (provided special education support in bilingual PS/PK setting). I was with Public School's Program in Washington, DC as a special education mentor teacher for S.Y. 2006 to 2008. I've provided special education support to special needs students and assistance to the other teachers in the implementation of their students' individual education plans within the classroom. As a PK/K inclusion SPED teacher for S.Y. 2005 to 2006 at a Public Charter School in Washington, DC, I've provided early childhood education service, in addition to special education support to PK/K students.
